A lag screw, also called a lag bolt or coach screw, is a heavy-duty fastener with a thick, coarse-threaded shaft and a pointed tip. Unlike a traditional bolt, a lag screw is driven into wood with a wrench or socket, creating its own mating thread for an exceptionally strong and durable connection.
Installation: Requires a pre-drilled pilot hole to prevent the wood from splitting, especially in large or heavy-duty applications.
